Know all about the D.El.Ed. & PDPET Program(Bridge Course) from Prof. C.B.Sharma, Chairman, NIOS

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme is a specifically designed package for inservice untrained teachers working in primary/ upper primary schools of different states of the country. The programme has been developed by the Academic Department, NIOS on the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005, RTE 2009 and NCFTE 2010. The Programme aims at enabling the target group to develop in them skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective. D.El.Ed. is mandatory for all in-service Teachers at primary level and for Graduate only teachers at upper primary level. All such teachers need to register for the D.El.Ed. program at NIOS Website by 15th September 2017. The NIOS Professional Development Program for Elementary Teachers (PDPET) - Bridge Course of 6 months has been developed on the initiative of MHRD for the For Teachers who are graduates with B.Ed. and want to teach at Primary level (Class 1st to 5th). All such Teachers must also register on NIOS portal after 9th October, 2017. The NIOS D.El.Ed. and NIOS PDPET, both courses are recognised by NCTE and MHRD, Govt. of India.
